The Story Behind the 1939 New York Worlds Fair Picture with Henry Ford’s Signature

The girls missed Henry Ford in New York.  Found in the archives at The Henry Ford Museum, this picture was taken by a Ford photographer at the New York Worlds Fair and sent to Detroit for Henry Ford's Signature.

Notice the signage on the hood in a lighter color, Worlds Fair, & Wash. Also notice the signage on the rear door, “Good Old Lizzy”.

Henry signed 7 pictures and sent them all to Darlene Dorgan , one for each of the 6 travelers.  He requested that the 7th be signed by each of the girls and returned to him

This picture shows not only Henry Fords signature but also the signatures of the 6 gals who traveled to the New York Worlds Fair in the Silver Streak in 1939.  It was found in the Henry Ford Museum Archives.
